Hard to reach this point in T by G's post without drooling somewhat! I have a problem with Lee 308 113 in my Marlin 30 -30 when I forget to consider the OAL obtained by slugging the barrel. Today test fired five rounds and number six was hard to battery. Mic'ed it and found it to be 2.330 OAL and the lead slug wants 2.299. There were rifling marks on that boolit apprximately .040 long. Several rounds have been fired in the rifle using these bullets and the Lee .308 170 gr. flat nose that have been sized .3095 after Hi-Tek gold and GC'ed with no leading and some above 1900 fps using my cheepy Chronograph. I am getting closer to choosing which loads to use. Pictures coming of final results.
