Use Unique powder with Lee 312-160-2R cast boolit

Does any know if Unique powder can be used with the Lee 312-160-2R boolit in the 7.62x39 , 7.62x54R , and .303 British? If so what loads could you suggest? I usually shoot starting loads in my rifles and pistols , no sense stressing the guns. I am aware of the loads for 2400, but I would rather not add another powder to my loading bench if possible.

For the 54R and 303 10-12grs of Unique ought to work just fine.

I've tried 9 grains of Unique with that bullet and have had great luck keeping roups around 2 inches at 100 yards with my 7.62 x54 R in three different Mosin Nagants.

Tomorrow I'm going to test 8 grains of Bullseye with the same bullet and two others.

I really like the Lee bullet mould. It casts very consistently for me.

Unique works really well in bolt action military rifles. I have used it in just about every rifle I shoot. For a 303 or 7.62 X 54R I would use anything from 10 to 15 gr depending upon the bullet and velocity desired. I have most experience with the 30-05 round of which I have fired thousands. generally I use 13 to 15 gr with a 165 to 180 gr gas check slug. I have gotten groups of less that 1 moa at 100 yards with several loads. As for using it in the 7.62X39 you can do it with around 6 to 8 gr but you may not get good cycling of a semi auto. The pressure curve would be wrong and may not work well. I generally use the bullet you specify with AA1680 in the 7.62X39 and get good funtioning and accuracy from my SKS and AK rifles. I use a charge of 16 gr to achieve this.
