Answered a four day old post on Craigslist about ballast lead.Two pieces 2 1/2” x 3 1/2” x 13” quick math said 90 pounds + so I made the call. Guy said he still had it but had no idea what it was. He was asking $60 so I figured it was worth the 40 minute trip. It was oxidized pretty heavy but it cut nicely with my pocket knife so I paid the man and brought it home. I cast up five test boolit with it in my 31133 mold and they turned out pretty. It is pure lead or extremely close to it. I am pretty tickled with this one. Ended up weighing about 94 lbs. for the two ingots. So $.64 a pound. I’ll take that all day long.
