Anyone shoot hollow base slugs without a wad?

I have a 12ga sxs muzzleloader with cylinder bore barrels. I am going to cast soft lead slugs that I will size to about 0.722", these are a little tight but will go down the bore. I am thinking about trying these slugs without an over powder wad, just a thin over shot card to keep the slug seated. I have seen many claim any air gap is a bad deal with BP. Anyone ever try this? Not looking for speculation as to what may occur, I have Google if I want that.

Any sort of Card under a Hollow Base Bullet will Blow into the cavity and set the bullet off balance. It is OK to Put the Bullet directly onto the Powder.Alternately a paper patched Hollow base bullet might do the trick. The Air Space is negligible with both methods. The Enfield and the Springfield with hollow Base bullets are loaded directly onto the Powder presumably it would be OK with a smooth Bore.
