    Holster for my Taurus.

I've always enjoyed leatherworking, not really done much in past few years until recently. Decided to work with my laser on cutting out the leather, cutting the holes for the sewing and on this one, engraving. My first four were for my two 1911s, and my ppq. Finally got holes right so I don't have to clean out residue or repunch. Used an all in one stain finish, so far it held up well on my ppq which has been daily carry for about 4 months.

I never had a lot of success cutting leather with my laser when I had it. What wattage machine and power level did you use?

Nice work. Looks like mighty fine work. I was just looking at new holsters.

    Looks great on my screen.

I'm curious about laser power as well. Have a 30W IR Engraver / cutter, need to upgrade the laser some day.

I've a great big Chinese machine. 80watt, 35 x54 inch bed. I use about 40 percent to cut at 12mm/sec travel. About 6 min to cut holes and outline. A 30 watt machine is way sufficient for most stuff.

Nice! So many uses for those (Only down side is the fumes from cutting some things aren't exactly nicely scented :P) I imagine leather's nicer than plastics at least.

Nope, plastics, wood, everything smells better than leather........ But my extractor fan is pretty good.

Very well done, take pride in your work because that's a fine looking holster! Thanks for the write up, I also dabble in leather work and have a neighbor with a laser cutter he makes signs and such never even thought about its application on leather.
