Appreciate all of the replies guys.

The lube I ended up going with is equal parts beeswax/paraffin/vaseline with about 3-4 tablespoons of STP oil treatment.

I went to the range Thursday and put about 70 .44 specials and about 40 full throttle .44 magnum loads through it and had only the faintest streaks of lead in the bore and accuracy was consistent. Very minimal lead fouling. Almost non-existent. I was really pleased with how it performed. I doubt I'll have many range sessions where I shoot more than that.

The only knock I have is that it is a bit soft and sticky. I may add a little more paraffin next time to harden it up a bit.

Just to clarify, you guys are using the BLL with full throttle magnum loads?

I have tumble lubed a lot with 45/45/10 for lower velocity stuff, but I have never tried to push a bullet 1,300 or 1,400 fps with it. I didn't think it was possible.

Also, isn't one of the ingredients no longer available?

The soft and readily melted part of the Darrs is the reason I reduced the Vaseline and added STP . The 90° desert mornings just turned it to soup and had it oozing all over . The increased parrafin helped a lot . It's still soft enough to work down in to the 30s .
