Necessity IS the Mother of invention

Back story: I live in a small town 50 miles from ANYWHERE....
No airsoft bbs available locally, and I don't have the opportunity to 'big city' shop but about once in 3-/+ months.
Trying to shake n bake some .224 and .308 cast tonight. Absolutely could not get my static to cooperate. I'm getting ready to start with bad words, when I have a bolt of lightning hit my brain: why not chop some small pieces off of a styrofoam cup?
So I used the scientific method of tearing the rim off in little pinches about dime size.
Eureka!! About 20 seconds of shaking and we have PC coating!
Just thought I'd pass it on in case someone else was in a similar situation.
if it doesn't fit, don't force it. Get a BIGGER HAMMER!

    Good thinking on your feet.
I thought about styrofoam peanuts but I'm afraid of the mess it would make getting ground up by the boolits.

I've tried styrofoam peanuts added to air soft bb's. They didn't break apart at all, floated on the top. Not sure if they would break apart without the bb's. I'll have to try and see.

I added peanuts to bb's and stood on a rubber mat while it was overcast and misting outside and got good coverage with smokes jet black on some 300 gr 35 caliber. Had to put a few on tray and then swirl again but was impressed i could build static during a drizzle event.

The evil auction site & that fast sales site both sell Airsoft Black BBs, pretty sure. Bought mine from the latter. (Not sure if mods let us name either site!)
