WTB - .338 Hornady 200 gr. FP bullets

Hello everyone. I realize I might be chasing my tail, but thought I would see if anyone has any of the discontinued .338 Hornady 200 gr. FP bullet they might be willing to part with. If anyone does, it would be much appreciated.

I got grandfathers Win. Model 1886 .33 wcf he bought in 1907. I plan on taking it on a deer hunt this year and using his Marble knife if successful as part of my bucket list. I have 60 pieces of brass I picked up and 9 WCF factory shells. I used 3 to sight in the Marbles tang sight I put on it and it's a shooter.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Mike

You might check and see if the .338 Hornady FTX bullet is available still. Might work.

rmcc, I didn't receive your PM. Did they possibly change the system? I haven't been on in 2 years because of health issues.

rockrat, I thought about those FTX bullets, but only as a last resort. I want to keep it as close to the original as possible. Also thought about cast bullets, some of which I received from 'hithard' (thanks again) on this site 2 years ago. But I am reluctant to load those over 1400 fps because of leading, even though some have a gas check. I will be using them for enjoyment shooting.

    Mike,
I've got a box of them, 115 total. Hornady 200gr FP, Part# 3315. The bullets are slightly discolored from age, but not corroded or anything like that. I don't really want to part with them but I like your intentions - I have a similar quest with my grandfather's Model 8 in .32 Remington (still looking for affordable dies). I'd do $55 shipped to you. Send me a PM if that interests you.

I have some cast 200ish grain flat points. These are from my Ideal mold# 338320, PM me if your interested in trying some.

Why not work with cast boolits.
I would think the RCBS 200 grain RNFP might wok well or flatten the RN of the Lee 220 grainer.
Just a thought and likely easier on the gun.
