Pea Gravel in bags made from old Carhart jeans.
Seems the jeans always wear holes at the knees and pocket areas but the lower legs stay in good shape. I cut them off and use for sand bags.

We have an above-ground pool and I use filter sand. Dry it out after season end, sift out the "stuff", sew into jeans legs, or leather bags.

Place I used to work at used beads of glue a little bigger than airsoft bb's for an extruder to melt and layer onto the back of carpet and like contender1 said when they were on the floor they were contaminated.
I got a five gallon bucket of them for filling my bags, works great.
issue Alice Pack, the extra big ( ranger style ) - Large version not that little ***- stuffed with gear I want when I go into the field…all the gear inside is packed in sealed plastic bags incase "IF" when it rains. nothing fancy, been shooting of the top of a pack for a long time...
A shooting buddy got me started on fish tank gravel in an old sock. The gravel is coated with epoxy so water can not disolve any of the minerals out of the rocks to mess up tank PH. By squizing the sock, the gravel will move slightly to raise the bag as needed. I didn't think much of the idea till I tried his and have been using them ever since. Fairly cheap at wally world.
