One day most of our estates will be found and appreciated by someone.

Or not... see reports of what made it to the dump and was “rescued.” How many other items weren’t found in time.

I would have that conversation with him. Tell him that if he passes it's most likely that his wife or kids will just auction or pawn it all off. Tell him you'll buy it. He'll know it will be cared for and cherished and he can shoot them any time he likes. The truth and the end results may take the sting out of it for him.

My daughter is already getting nervous about what she is going to inherit. She knows what I have but not too much about what it all is.

Makes me happy to know that someone who understands, appreciates and will take care of this stuff got it.

I've labeled all my stuff along with the ammo that goes to the correct weapon so my wife will know a little better. I also got them appraised not so much for insurance value but if she sells them, she won't get ripped off.

The trick seems to be selling it or giving it away to the right people before you cant.
