punch like a tank!!!!! I got a chuckle out of that. Seems we had two rounds back in ww1 ww2 and korea that were everything and more. they were called the 308 and 3006.

Yeah that's fairly hilarious. Let's see a M4 hold up to 70K psi ammo. If they want to keep the same type of rifles it'll be something like a 6.5 Grendel. Considering they just adopted that piston driven AR from H&K, I doubt they'll be buying a different rifle any time soon. Plus all that big heavy ammo is too much to carry for the new generation of recruits.

Sounds like another pipe dream from the brigade of paper shufflers.

Adding a new caliber to the 5.56, 7.62, .45ACP, 9mm lineup is going to make the Logistics/Supply/Quartermaster types just love life.

The Army already canceled their new rifle/cartridge project. That was likely due to logistics cost problems with supplying a new round to everyone too. They decided to stick with the 5.56 like usual. So this may be old news that got rehashed by the media again.

I'm guessing there was a reason that the 6.8 SPC (Special Purpose Cartridge) was developed, but then it became a commercial cartridge for huntin and plinkin
