    PC and Lee TL358-158-2R

Has anyone tried powder coating this bullet? Running it through a Lee sizer after coating? Results?

    Thanks,
    Pastor Curtis

I have along with the 125-RF. I PC first then size all of my boolits and using Smokes powder (not and endorsement, but, it is the only one I am familiar with) I have had absolutely no problems.

This was my first 6 cav.

First effort was not good. The mid section of the boolit would drop undersized (0.356"). Even with PC I could not get it to shoot good with full power loads

Then I aquired a mini lathe. I worked out a die that I use to "bump up" undersized boolits. I can now get 85% OD contact when pushing through a 0.3575" sizer.

Now I have gotten good results under a stoud load, 8 gr of unique in a maximum case.

I cast up a good size batch today. I hope these will work out as my new main boolit for use in my DW maximum shooting IHMSA.

look up leementing / enlarging cavity diameter.
    http://www.castpics.net/subsite2/Mol...umentation.pdf

I drill a hole in the base of the boolit and run a screw in it (don't go too deep )
then I coat the "plug with metal polish (I use Fitz) and spin it a low speed with a drill.

I've been thinking of cutting the nose of the "boolit plug" off so I don't enlarge the nose, just the body

    Grmps,

I have played with enlarging 1 cav and 2 cav molds before.

I have not really wanted to try to get a 6 cav bigger and consistent.

Getting bigger boolits by bumping them up using swaging technology is just one of the reasons for using this approach.

    The other reasons include:

    - The really uniform and crisp base edge
    - Nose shape improvements
    - Much less need to be picky during culling. Most minor issues "disappear" or become minimal.

Once the set up is made, it is not much more effort to use than a push through and I can use it on any boolit of the applicable diameter.
