    Tiny shot for rimifire shotshells

I need a source for tiny shot for 22 rimfire, LR and WMR, shotshells. The current price in excess of 50 cents per round is ridiculous. In my youth, which have become the 'olden days', Remington 9322 shotshells were about $4/50, and I thought at the time that was excessive, so I failed to purchase a lifetime supply. At this point I would gladly pay $4/50 rounds of that product. CCI shotshells are now locally about $13/20 - totally ridiculous. I would like to create my own. So I need a way to either cast my own shot for my shells, or I need a source for the shot. This is like #12 shot, very small.

    Any sources, ideas, etc ?

    Mike

Here is a link to a closed thread on very small shot. You might PM or e-mail the OP to see if he has any left.

That size works well in the 32's and 38's as well.

I was given 50# of very small shot from a glass blower, who used it for weight in the bottom of a glass hydrometer (you winemakers know what I mean.) I would gladly send you a pound or so for free. I loaded a small number in my 357 mag, and it actually patterns okay at 10 yards; I would probably want to get closer to dispatch a snake or rodent. It is not ballistic shot in that it isn't very round, and it is variable in size, however, it is on average about #12. PM me with your address.

Didn't read the entire thread. If any body else needs some, I am still open.

I bought a box of Rio 12 gauge shells that contained number 12 shot. Whenever I need to load handgun shot loads, I just cut open a few of those.

Not sure of your use for this small shot, but the coarse salt from canning ( sometimes "kosher" is part of the name) might be a suitable size..?? Pretty inexpensive & more than one use as well...
I dunno. Just making a suggestion.
