How large can a patched bullet be?

Have a 45/70 with a 459 bore. Paper patched a few 440 diameter bullets just to see what I would get with 4 wraps.
I am getting .468 would this be to large if loaded round chambers with no problems ?

Is the bore diameter .459? Or the groove diameter is .459?

I once had a trap door with a huge bore.

Groove diameter. I would think if they fit the chamber it should work. but would like to hear from others.

for smokeless ideally you want you bullet to be at or above land diameter i like to cast size to 454 then patch and lube the patch and size to 458 with 459 bore you probably want your bullet in the 450+ range you can test by seeing if the unpatched bullet fits in the bore it should at least make contact

Was thinking this would be more like a bullet in a paper sabot , just wondering about the .468 diameter
