I need help 90 gr Lee SWC

I have to admit that I love the holes that SWC boolits make in the paper, so when I got my 9mm XDs I wanted to shoot SWC through it. I bought a 2 cavity Lee 358-105 SWC mold. It casts a little light, but that is OK for me. After powder coating them they average about 102gr. I have Unique and have used about 5gr and they shoot nicely. For those experienced reloaders, what can you offer me in the way of advice. I have consulted "Cast Bullet Handbook", but have been left lacking info.

    Thanks

Is there an issue you need help with?
I give loading advice based on my actual results in factory rifles with standard chambers, twist rates and basic accurizing.
My goals for using cast boolits are lots of good, cheap, and reasonably accurate shooting, while avoiding overly tedious loading processes.
The BHN Deformation Formula, and why I don't use it.
How to find and fix sizing die eccentricity problems.
Do you trust your casting thermometer?
    A few musings.

If you have a two cavity mold, get a six! Sounds like you have it dialed in.

As long as you are getting good feed and function, just get the 6-cavity mold. I've never had good results with bullets that light and the SWC can give you feeding issues. With that light a bullet you might try 231 or a slightly faster powder than Unique but if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Use that bullet in my wife's LTC revolver for plinking purposes

about the recoil of a .22 and she loves to fire it. Course one day when she ran out of them dug into the .357 boxes and shot them all up, too.

always said start them off with light loads and move up gradually

I use them in my 9 mils too. Mine are 107 gr before PC. I combine them with AA2 or VN320. Since I had occasional FTF when crimping on the band I crimp into the groove.

Sorry, correction: I have the 105 gr SWC mold, not the 90 gr SWC.

I have a 6 gang mold I use for my three 9mms, three 38 Specials and my single 357 Magnum. It's a Lee 125 gr. RNFP that I just size differently, according to the gun that will us them...
