can anyone tell me how to remove a barrel from a stevens mdl 44 in 25rf.? I don't want to put it into the barrel vice and start twisting without some idea of how to take it apart. A little help from those that know would be great.
Thanks

make some vice blocks of wood, boot heels, store bought. Make sure no set screw to lock it in. Check for modification of this type. Remove extractor. Leave block in to prevent crush. Remove extractor. leather line wrench jaws REMOVE EXTRACTOR warm it a bit with torch if you like fire, wf40, pb blaster, REMOvE EXTRACTOR twist her off slowly
be sure to REMOVE EXTRACTOR
Barrels are designed to come off easy on the 44. Screw on bottom needs to be backed out. Barrel should twist out by hand with the action open. If you need to use a barrel vice and wrench then follow the post before this.
Thanks!!! you guys are so smart!!
