In the USA, the suppressor tube will have to be permanently attached to the barrel for it not be be classified as a SBR in the current configuration as pictured.

Don't depend on internet experts for questions of legality. Your best bet is talk to the BATFE directly. My understanding is that if the suppressor (or any muzzle device) is permanently affixed (welded on) to give a barrel length of at least 16 inches and 26+ inches for the rifle overall it would not be considered a SBR. However, I could be wrong in my interpretation of their literature. Talk to the ATF agents and get it in writing for your local LEOs.

Yet the suppressor makes it an NFA firearm also.

    what I posted is correct.
if the suppressor tube is permanently attached (blind pinned, welded, silver soldered, ect) so the OAL of the barrel is at least 16 inches then its not a SBR (based on the stock in the picture)
If the suppressor tube can be unscrewed from the barrel then it is a SBR.

I know this for a fact because I am in the middle of building a suppressed 10/22 barrel (ATF FORM 1)
Barrel is 9 inches and the suppressor section will be 7 inches.
The suppressor tube screwed onto the barrel at the base so it basically looks like a 1 inch heavy barrel.
It will have a blind pin on the bottom that can only be removed by drilling it out.

Shroud on the barrel pinned to 16", but allowing the suppressor to screw on underneath?

your going to have to get clarification on that part but on a AR that should be allowed

Look at that new 50 caliber muzzler loader that has been out for a short while now and it has a permanent suppressor and it's not a NFA firearm. The ATF could care less about that muzzler loader.

One got it right. Can goes inside shroud. Having a can does NOT make it an NFA rifle although the can is registered. Also has a binary triggers so it's chuff, clang, chuff, clang VERY quickly. Have been accused of having full auto. LWRI lower, TACSOL upper. A'int no $500 AR !

It's so quiet I was shooting it today, indoors with 200 gr J-bullet subsonics. Wearing muffs (other shooters) I could just hear the "chuff" and the "ping" when the bullet trap was hit. The binary trigger is great to a) lay down fire OR b) quick followup shots.
