.22 single shot Hopkins and Allen

I thought I would share this with the membership. Maybe someone has seen one that is similar, or has one like it.
This is a Hopkins and Allen target pistol which was my Grandfathers. It has low serial numbers. I still shoot it and it is still very accurate although the trigger is what you would call a "hair" trigger. It has a 10 inch barrel, and the lands are still good.
    thanks for looking atr

Looks like a neat little target gun , wish they made affordable pistols like that and the Stevens tip- up again. Have thought about trying to make a mono- block like that and fit it to those old broken revolvers that almost everyone has, and make myself a .22 or maybe .32 single shot .

Really cool little pistol, and Grandad's to boot! Bet she shoots very well!

What, it's not a double-zoomie .50 caliber plastic fantastic magnum? Why are you wasting our time with that?

    Nice gun, enjoy shooting it.

Over the years of visiting gun shows and retail shops I have seen very few of these H&A pistols. Usually the people who had one for sale really didn't want to sell them due to the prices they marked on them. Yours looks very nice, with the bonus of having a family history associated with it. Enjoy it, and thanks for sharing the photo.

In 50 years of going to gun shows, I believe I have seen 3 of these. You have a rare and a neat pistol. S&W made a similar Target pistol, which is also rare, though I think I've seen a couple more.

    Thank you for the post.
It gives me some ideas on what to do with several I J, H A and H R receivers that I have acquired over the years.
I was sleeving the barrels and cylinders to a smaller caliber if the gun was not in serviceable condition, like .32 down to .22 or .38 S&W to .32 S&W.
But a single shot make a lot more sense.
You dont have to mess with the timing like you do in a revolver with a worn ratchet
