    Smile 91 carcano bore

I sluged the bore on my M91 carcano and i thinks its about right.
The bore diameter is .256 and the grove is .268 . On the bullet you can see how the rifling marks are wider on the ends from the rifling slowing as the bullet gets to the breech...

Scotty; Typing that makes me think back to my mother" Scotty get in here!" oops in trouble again! Do you have any idea what pitch the rifling starts at and what it finally increases to at the muzzle? Keep us posted with some test results- I've got my eye on one of these in a pawn shop, little spendy though, but it has been worked over and actually looks pretty good, set triggers and mil stock with nice pistol grip added to the org wood and checkered.

From what i can find the pitch start out around 1 turn in 18 inches and increases to 1 turn in 9 inches at the muzzle.Thats in the 31 inch barrel so it speeds up fairly slow.
