    I have a question.

For those of you that load the Lee 358-125 RF boolits into a 9 mm does the crimping groove affect the taper crimp? I have that mold in the 158 gr. for loading .38/.357 but was considering the lighter boolits for my next acquisition, a CZ 75 SP -01. I have the Lee 120 gr tc now, and won't need the 158 gr mold as I'm selling the firearm that uses it.

Don't load that bullet, but a word of safty/caution. I load the Lee 200 rf colt bullet in 45 acp. As long as I crimp just before or just after the crimp groove, no problem. I had some set up with the case mouth flush with the crimp groove and had a light primer strike on a gun that never fails. Got to looking and when the round fed it had closed the case mouth into that crimp groove enough that the round didn't headspace. Still love that bullet, just a little more cautious to have lead under the case mouth.

Loaded it in 9mm and seated the bullet to a depth that just covered up the crimp groove. Seemed as if that COAL gave best feeding and cycling. One could also go just below the crimp groove if their barrel's throat would allow for it.

Just shot some today. I'm able to load long enough that it crimps just below the crimp groove.

    I don't crimp the 9mm.
    I do remove the bell.

I do the same. Crimp groove in my Lee 125 RNFP has no effect on "crimp". BTW; I use this bullet in my 9mms and 38/357 Mags. Just use a different sizing die...

My experience with the Lee 358-125 RF was that I had to reduce the COAL down to 1.0" ,as I recall, because the round would not pass the "plunk test" in my M&P 9mm.
I felt that I was seating the bullet too deep and got concerned with too much pressure so I went with the Lee 358-120-TC bullets.

To those using the Lee 358-125 RF, what COAL did you end up with?

1.042" works well in my Ruger 9e.

I have had to reduce the OAL to 1.115 for my Berretta but the Ruger likes 1.160 just fine. I just ignore the groove and use a taper crimp. At least it cannot likely set back accidentally. I did have to reduce my load for the shorter OAL because I was loading full power with WSF. Anyway , I never had great accuracy with these bullets but who cares when your speed shooting an close targets and all you need is to ring the steel.
For some reason Ruger has more clearance to the riflings so nearly anything that will go in the magazine will chamber. Most other pistols are not that tolerant.
Sent from my PC with a keyboard and camera on it with internet too.

My CZ barrel would not accept the 125 RF unless loaded very short. Had it throated by Dougguy and now it "plunks" at 1.10 which is midway between the crease groove and crimp groove. Haven't shot it yet but hope to soon..

How many 358-125 RF do you need? That was what you wanted, no?

Thanks but I'll probably sell my 158 gr Lee mold and get a 125 gr. mold. I wouldn't want to impose on anyone.....If others can use it in their 9mm pistols I suppose I can too. I would guess my Ruger Lc9s pro would gobble them up if my soon- to- be new acquisition won't.

    Yes, much better description.
