    New to him

Grandson in law bought a really nice Savage Axis XP in 243 cal. Former owner really kept it cleaned and oiled. Rifle is approx.: 4 to five years old. Has shot a couple of boxes thru it.

Get him a box of the Hornady 87 grn boat tail hollow points load these at a decent velocity slightly under max and watch. One of the best bullets I used out to 300 yds in my 243 NRA match rifle. 600 and farther I used 105-115 grns vlds. His rifle wont have the twist for those long bullets.

I sighted one in just like that for guy's grandson. It was boring -5 shots to sight in and 3 shots in 1-1/8". I called that good for Green&Yellow 100grs. And he got an 8 point later.
