    Hornady 45 gas checks

I called Hornady today and asked about their 45 gas checks. I was told that their not a priority right now so it could be awhile before there in production again. I did a search and they seem to be on back order all over or the price was crazy. I did place an order with sage outdoors and there about ten dollars less for Gator gas checks.

Just go Gator, I did, and never look back.

The whole market has been AR/.223/5.56mm for the past 8 years, so it seems, when all the panic buyers wake up from their post-Obama hangover, the rest of the market will pick up some steam, but it may never be the same.

I have not seen a downside to using Gator gas checks. I much prefer their .458 rifle checks over the .45 Hornady checks I have. When my Hornady checks are all that is it, replaced with Gator checks.

I won't pay $50.00 for Gas Checks, I have an older HORNADY box of .270cal from 15yrs ago. The price tag says $19.59, I bought them at the most expensive retail gun store in LA/Orange County, CA. Copper prices haven't gone up that much.

    GO GATOR, Call SAGE'S.

I wonder if Hornady will think casting is a dying business and discontinue checks based on falling sales, or if they will realize they have competition and actually try to compete.

I have found that Hornady gas checks don't work very well with my older Lyman bullet molds.I need to try some of the other brands.

Wasn't there somebody here selling gas checks? Seems like I bought my .30's from somebody here that was making them.

ive used gators for over 10 years exclusively and have never had to aneal a check. If you have to aneal it I would guess its a mold problem not a gas check problem. some old molds were cut for lyman non crimp checks and don't work well with the newer ones.
