Saeco 8 cavity handles

Had read that Saeco 2-4 cavity mold handles should work on 8 cavity molds. Got my new handles in the mold halves won't close together. Not liking the idea of grinding on $50 handles to make them work. Any ideas other than grinding, are there other handles that would work without modifications? I looked here http://castboolits.gunloads.com/show...hange-Use-list and didn't see the answer I seek.

I have 5 Saeco 8 cavity moulds and they use the same handles as my Saeco 4 cavity moulds.
Note ! all my handles & moulds are 20+ years old.

I ended up filing the top and inside web of the handles to get them to open and close with ease. I used the mold/handles yesterday for the first time and everything worked flawlessly and made a pile of boolits in a hurry.

No not really, I thought it would be noticeable but it wasn't. You are resting the mold on the guide anyways for the hard part. Opening up and clearing the boolits is fast as they drop out easily.
I ran about 10lbs of lead, using the Saeco 8 cavity and my new Lee 6 cavity 9mm mold. Only poured for maybe 30 mins total from time in the shop till reloading and leaving. Was just making sure both molds ran good and would make good boolits they did.

The Saeco might start getting heavy after a few hours but for short runs no issues at all as of now.

MOULD HANDLES
Castings are ductile iron with solid hardwood grips. They should be ordered separately and fit all SAECO mould blocks (1-8 cavity).

NO ! I use a older lyman mould guide retrofitted to be used on a RCBS pro melt , it supports the weight of the mould and has a channel to keep the mould aligned with the pot spout as well as a adj mould stop. that you cant use on the 8 cavity mould as there too long.
