    MP mould "locator pins"

    Hi guys,

I have an MP 4 cav 9mm mould. For years. lol Couldn't say how many 10's of thousands of boolets this thing has cast, literally. I have a bunch of friends that shoot 9.

It seems that over time, the rear pin that mates with the socket has moved back a thow or two. Resulting in the mould being able to close "crooked".

Are these pins a press fit ? So maybe a little judicious pushing would move it back ? NOT gonna whack on it. haha. I'm thinking a table top hyd press or even a C clamp.

    Thanks

If you're gonna be stupid, don't pull up short. Saddle up and ride it all the way in.

I would send Miha a PM and ask about it. From that thread it doesn't look like you can just whack it back out, so good thinking on that.

    Thanks Beagle, good thread.
I logged in to Miha's site and used his messaging system. we'll see what he says. Bummer if it can't easily be fixed. 10+ years old and a butt ton of boolets. I think I've gotten my moneys worth.

I grabbed my tightest set of Lee handles, shimmed the handle to mould fit, (getting rid of the "tolerance stacking"), got rid of most of the flash on the rear cavity (worst offender).
