I got 2 dozen boolits cast with my new old Pro Melt before the dripping got too bad. It was the dripping down the outside of the nozzle that got my attention. Both the valve rod and nozzle are bent and there is a leak between the nozzle and pot. It's going to take A Lot more work. LOL
    Mal,

I called RCBS and discussed my dripping Pro-Melt with them. It was about 35 years old at the time. At first they wanted me to send it in but I convinced them I was perfectly capable of removing and replacing some pop rivets. The sent a pot and the valve stem at no charge. The spout is swaged into the pot so replacement is the only option.

I'll do that. The other option is to braze the nozzle to the pot. I bought the Pro Melt from another forum member who had started "saving it" but someone before us really beat on this poor machine.

I called RCBS. The valve rod would be free but the pot is $30 and they can't take credit cards so I have to send a check........

Waaaaa! I just want to cast!

    Mal,

When you replace that pot, a photographic history of the details would be valuable.

I replaced my pro melt switch without drilling out the rivets. Agreed on the short wires however with a little patiences it went good. - jeepyj
Sometimes it takes a second box of boolits to clear my head.
