    Black powder cartridge loading manual

Can anyone recommend a reloading manual for black powder cartridges I can buy. I specifically want loading data for various black powder calibers, and not a bunch of "how to". I would also be interested in any old books or info. you might have to send cheap.

    Black powder cartridge loading manual

SPG Black Powder Cartridge Reloading Primer,
    revised 9th edition.

Going to get "How To" in about any book on handloading.

black powder is generally fill the case to the base of seated bullet, a tad more and shoot; pretty muck regardless of caliber (not shotgun). the magic is in the " how toos"

    just sayin..

Randolph S Wrights book, Loading and Shooting the Paper Patched Bullet A Beginners Guide is very good and covers the basic how to, why, and what very good. More for Paper Patched loads but the how tos are the same for greasers also

Reloading DATA does not correlate well with BPCR loading. You'll need to put away any of what you know/learned loading smokeless as little if any will cross over to BPCR. Once you read a book with "how to's" you'll have a better idea of why generic "data" doesn't
    exist for BPCR

Mike Venturino’s Shooting Buffalo Rifles of the Old West has a pretty extensive section on reloading black powder, at least in the larger “buffalo” calibers.

ID:	213690Sam Fadala's `Black powder Loading manual` is a good book to have.

Plenty of `How to` plus load data including metallic cartridges.

I would try an get load information for the firearm itself first and go from there.

If you are a seasoned metallic reloader moving to BP, I will just remind you that BP load data is given in grains “volume” and not what it weighs out on a scale.

Depending on what BP substitute you use the difference can be substantial.

Black powder does not have a wide variety of data. Much of the data is built into the cartridge nomenclature. To get best performance requires a lot of ammo assembly techniques including picking the right bullet designs, right alloy and the right bullet diameter.

You can find some data in the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook.
