Any good loads for the 223 rem.in the 2500 to 2800 fps range ?

Has anyone developed any good loads with Powder coated bullets in the 2500 to 2800 fps range in the 223 rem. ?
Have a nice single shot that I am hoping to dedicate to cast bullets only, but would like to at lease get 2500 to 2800. I have a lee 22 bator mold and one of their newer 22 cal molds to try.

I never shoot over ~1600 FPS with PC in 223/556. Some others do. They may chime in. Just use standard published load data in PC. I do all the time. The Lee bator design is carp in my book. I prefer a boolit that LOOKS like a real rifle boolit profile and cast and shoot a lot of them from other vendors on here. ( I now buy ONLY brass molds) PC'd with alloy hardness mixed for 15......not water dropped. I use X-Terminator powder only for 223/556 loads........right out of the loading manuals.

Good luck on your high speed quest.

What are your accuracy goals? The faster you push them the harder it is to get good accuracy.

Will be interesting to hear what people chime in with. For me it's a heavy 70 grain from NOE so I don't try for the velocities you are trying for. No idea what fps one gets from 24.5 grains of Varget but it cycles fine in a Ruger mini-14. I won't get the range from a Ranch rifle that you would from a bolt gun so I never saw the need.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

Well like the old saying , The best I can get. What would be considered a decent group at 100 yards, 1 inch ?

If you check the scores in the Cast Bullet Association shoots, the results and load are listed. That will give you the accuracy and load.

IMHO you should start with straight lino with molds you have and see what you can achieve as to velocity vs accuracy. If your gun is 1:12 or 1:14 twist your boolit weight will be limited to 60 grains or lighter. You said single shot so I expect this is the twist you will have unless a custom build. My 220 swift Ruger 77 V has yet to achieve accuracy above 2000 fps with hitek and any boolit I have tried. Lots of money down that wormhole. By the way 45 grain cast HP in lino is devastating on yotes at 1800 to 2000 fps, almost like a 50 grain ballistic tip in lethality

My 223 has a 1-9 twist. if that is of help. I have shot size and lube to 1500 fps with Unique for a small game load.

I can't give you any data at the moment but I intend to test in my 223 Rem AR15 (1-8" Twist) PC coated 69gr Mihec cast loads starting at 2300-2500fps this spring.

The new constraints on pics (2MB or less ) makes posting pics a pain

neat short article about 223 Rempoly coated bullets.

2mb limit? Shoot! I'm been resizing down to create 70kb photos for too long then!

Some experts claim that you should not push as cast bullet faster than the velocity that gives you 140,000 rpm. With a 1:9 twist that's somewhere slightly below 2000 fps. In my 223 rem accuracy disappears at about 1900 fps no matter what lube I try ,even with gas checks. My most accurate load is at 1720 fps, gas checked, using both a Lyman 225646 and RCBS 225-55-FN. I do this with 5.8 grains of HP-38 or W231. I've tried to get over 2000 fps but at some point the boolits just cease to exist (they leave the rifle and never arrive at the target).
