Would there be any point or reason to slugging one?

no, factory slugs are made to the same specks. nothing will change., unless you make your own, but why bother?
I was thinking of ordering a slug mold from Accurate.

I give loading advice based on my actual results in factory rifles with standard chambers, twist rates and basic accurizing.
My goals for using cast boolits are lots of good, cheap, and reasonably accurate shooting, while avoiding overly tedious loading processes.

A few musings.
Depending on how your slug is loaded? If slug is in direct contact with the rifled bore, i would want the slug diameter to at least match the groove diameter. More so if using an antimony/tin alloy thats harder then pure.
Pure lead will expand, slump to fill the bore. The Lee key drive slug has a taper shape to it. The "key" grips the plastic wad, making sure they spin with the rifling.
Yours may be different.

The twist rate in a barrel may also make a difference in accuracy. Slug length may be an issue??
Barrels are not all the same twist.
My Mossberg 12 ga. likes the Lee.

I have the Lee, does alright, I just like to tinker.

most propel don't shoot MOA. with slugs. when they do it is on a bench with bags, totally different than out in the field off hand. most game is taken 0 to 35 yards, or less in brush. yes i know some one will say i shot a deer at over 100 YDS. well perhaps, but it is not the norm. so just go with what you have and have fun.
Same here. That why i bought the Lee when it first came out. Sold the mold a while back. Still have some rounds loaded. At 73, not liking the recoil anymore.I just like to tinker.
I remember shooting 35 rounds testing one day, years ago.
Certainly! Just on this forum there are barrels with as much as .005 difference reported in 12 ga. Important if ordering a custom mold. Takes 5 minutes, why not?

With holes this big I just use the Inside Hooks on my dial calipers. You should be able to get within .001 of actual every time like that.
My Hastings A5 Barrel is .730 as is my Mossberg Barrel.

Not sure but it looks a lot like this one from Accurate Molds:

Nice looking slug for sure.
Not quite sure why one wouldn't slug their bore or at least measure with inside mic or calipers. There is a lot of variation between brands. Seems to me someone posted measurements for a USH at something like 0.735" groove, above are a couple at 0.730" and I checked a Remington barrel that measured 0.727" groove.
Smoothbore not so critical but it still makes a difference as I can say after making my "full bore" slug mold that casts 0.729" then find my smoothbore is 0.733"... DOH! Those slugs gave okay accuracy with 0.004" clearance but it improved considerably after knurling up then sizing back to 0.733".
Alternately an oversize slug that is designed to crush to suit the bore works too. In my experience, Lyman Foster slugs supposedly designed to obturate to fill the bore do not work as advertised! If they started out at 0.720" maybe but starting out at 0.705", not so much.
