    Marlin scope base hole size?

Anyone know the size and pitch of these little filler screws for the Marlin scope base holes? 6-48 is too small and altho' I don't have a 8-40 tap, I have an 8-32 which seems to be the right diameter, but did not want to get a bunch of 8-40 screws is they are not right,

Need 8 for my 2 modern-made M1895s and 4 for a 1960 era 336, if anyone has some extras, also need a M1895 front sight hood,

Mine on 336CB 38-55, 94 38CBC, and 336 30-30 were all 8-40 filler screws that I purchased through eBay for a minimal cost and were original Marlin factory parts

    Hope this helps

Without getting off my butt to check if it's not 6x48 it is 8x40. I can't remember the dates and
models as far as mount screw size but they are all one or the other. Unless a older rifle was D/T
after market when you find them 6x32 or 8x32.
