Lee TL358-158-SWC and Ruger Load info

I'm looking for some help with my Lee TL358-158 SWC mold,

I have Unique, and am getting some 2400
I have Magnum CCI NO. 550 small pistol primers

ill be shooting this out of 357 Magnum Cases
SP101
GPMatch Champion
RedHawk 8rnd 2.75 barrel

Looking for a starting load and a don't go beyond load
I typically load on the low end
and
seating depth

13.0 grs of Alliant 2400 with my home cast 158 gr., 357 mag. Brass or primer not a big issue with this non-maximum loading.

Shot in many Rugers and S&W revolvers to test fire them.

I use that boolit in my Smith model 28 with 6 grains of Unique 357 case and any small pistol primer. A very accurate load that has mild recoil.

Have a look in your loading manual for a 158 grain lead projectile in a 357 case and you will have starting and max with Unique and 2400. Crimp in the crimp groove and work your way up from min toward max until you find an accurate load.

I love that mold and have shot thousands of them but mainly in 38 special. I am interested in a midrange 357 load. Just not enough hours in a day.

I cast and load that bullet for all my 357's . I usually run it over 6 gr of unique at 1.590 oal . according to alliant manual that is max charge .

Alliant manual only lists max charge . I've went as low as 5.5 gr . I've gotten alliant manuals free from local gunships .I imagine you could also get it free directly from alliant .or just go to there reloaders guide on their web sight

The lee 158 swc was one of my first molds,also one of the best and most useful I've ever owned, for low to top 38 loads and low to mid range 357 I have not found anything more useful. I powder coat them and with unique and 2400 and bullseye I've fired tons of boolits it's the boolit in a river sp101 and an old Smith k frame that my wife and daughter and cousin learned to shoot centerfire handguns.
This is my absolute and best advice, not being coy nor snarky in the least. Use what ever electronic device you used to post here and go to your chosen powders company website and you will find a trove of load data, if you were asking about something that had little to no commercial data I'd help find a load or two that might be safe and sane. The 357/38 158 scw is about as common as one will ever come across,far to many favorites to list here from memory. You are in for a good time with that mold.
