Some John Taffin loads for .44 mag

I tried that 10 gr. of Unique under a 300 gr. lswc exactly one time. Flat primers and sticky extraction in my buddies 629. Seemed o.k. in my BH but the recoil was abusive. I imagine this has been posted before but newbs might find it useful.

    Exclamation

My Lyman reloading manuals show 10gr. Unique as a maximum load for 240gr. - 250gr. SWC cast bullets. I think I'd drop down to 9gr. Unique or change to a slower propellant with the 300gr. LSWC you're using regardless of what John Taffin suggested.

He lists some good "pleasure" loads at the end of the article that are quite reasonable.
