I have a great load for 243 with 100gr rcbs and hollow pointed 3/8 deep. Works awesome on rabbits, prairie dogs and skunks. Aint shot a yote with it yet but I think it should work great.

I also have a #4 buckshot load of COWW that flat pile drives jack rabbits at 40yds that I think would work very good too.
What is the load you use for the buckshot? I am wanting to get into casting and loading my own jackrabbit coyote loads.

I want to as well. Just got a mold for #4s, and have a lot of hulls, wads, powder and primers. I'll figure out something that works.

That coyote I killed with the shotgun I posted was with some Federal goose loads left over from the pre steel shot days our local Alco was selling on clearance several years ago for $5 a box. They are 3", 1 7/8 ounce of BB sized lead shot. Quite ferocious and killed that one DRT from about 35 yards away. I would think #4 would be just as good or better.

The 7-08; used 120 grain flat points that were laying around (like for a 7-30 Waters). Loaded them hot because of the poor BC.
    Uhg, what a mess.
    That 287308 will be plenty.

Since this was not a cast kill I probably shouldn't post it. Called him in just before dark tonight.
223 with a 55 gr Remington soft point on a full case of varget. I don't weigh it, just fill the case full and seat a bullet on it.
Some people live and learn but I mostly just live

The only thing hard about killing a coyote is getting a shot at the sucker!

You do your part and a cast bullet will do its.

http://www.handgunhunt.com/photopost/data/500/030.jpg Took this coyote at 65 steps with a .218 Bee using a 55gr, gas checked, cast bullet and a dose of H4198. She was 'real mangy', but her mate looked fine. By the time I reloaded he was 'gone'.
