    Some 8mm Mauser fun....

Wasnt sure where to post this , but figured I had to brag a little.
swp 45 98K mauser, 8x57, 75 yd result with a mold design I had Accurate 32-194P cut for me, as well as result with an NOE 325365.
Both are gas checked, both had the same load behind them. Look forward to stepping them out to 100+ when it warms back up.

What alloy and what load (or at least powder) that Accurate profile looks like a hard thumper on impact. Would that be considered something of a bore rider design, sort of self centering? Nice, real nice. I have yet to get out past 50 on a Lee mold in 8mm but would be thrilled with either target. Brag on!
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

Thanks Ben and RogerDat, been using 33-35gn of H4895, my 98 is a tad over 0.323" so I had it cut at 0.326" sized to 0.325" with LS carnauba Red, water dropped wheel weights, running around 22bhn, hoping to get back out and chrony it, and maybe stretch it out a little to.
Tom at Accurate has me trained I guess, this is the first design I sent he didnt ask a question on. I hope it hits like a freight train honestly.

A poor pic, bought it as a barreled action, in 1988, for $35, then had it blued (not knowing any better) and used a blem stock from Richards. It is bedded, but an amateur job .

    Hi!

I got about the same results with the Lee 329-205-1R sized (with gas checks) to 325'' with H4198 powder.

That looks like the 311440 all grown up to 8mm.
If Paco was right about the 30 caliber version then it ought to be even bigger stomper in 8mm.

Wow!! I DO like that bullet and its large meplat and, obviously it shoots! I believe it will flatten anything you hit with it! Well done, sir! I don't know if a fella can do much better than Tom at Accurate. I have one of his bore riding, 8mm, 200 gr. bullets that gets sized to .321 for a .318 bore and from my old Strover Mauser sporter it shoots like yours.
