    Winchester 30-30 heastamps

I'm looking for info on these Winchester 30-30 headstamps. They came in a cardboard box, but I can't find anything on them.
    "HRTRS"
    Herters? Must be...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. New ammo, old box.

I wish they still packed ammo in those style of boxes.

All the Herter's brass I have is marked "HERTERS" this looks to be a lot newer.
Herter's brass is now 40 years old.

Even my little 222 Herter's brass is headstamped "HERTERS". I don't know what you have there.

There are 20 cartridges and they don't look old. When I found the box on the store shelf, it was in a sealed plastic bag, but the box itself wasn't sealed at all. This store takes in and sells old brass, dies, ammo, etc.

Yes that's the new Herters, completely and totally different from the old Herters. I think the new stuff is just re-branded eastern European ammo.

I have no clue as to who or where these might have come from but I doubt very seriously it is the old Herter's ammo. Ol George had a thing about self promotion and I cannot see him allowing ammo without full name being put on it being sold. You know "the world's greatest". my .02 anyway.

If the sides of the antique box are in good shape they may have done you a favor. The box may have some value, but I'm not going to guess at it because I know nothing about the value of antique cartridge boxes.

I thought all Herter's brass from the 60s-70s was made by Norma until I got some 25-06 that is marked Made in Canada. Also I see in the pic that the .222 Magnum was made in Finland. The Hrtrs stamp is from the Cabelas era; either PPU or S&B made.

I found a box of new Herters 30-30 ammo in my stash. Headstamps read HRTRS, on the box it says made in the Czech Republic, so I'm going with S&B.
