I see Lipseys will be offering a convertible Blackhawk in 10mm and 40 S&W.

10 mm Ruger only loads? Could be a potent midrange hunting handgun!

I tried to order one of them from Lipsey's (via LGS) a couple of days ago and was told that the entire "run" was "spoken for". Too bad, so sad--I bought one of the 5" blue .44 Spl full lugged GP-100's instead. Hope thiis helps---Stan

It is step down from a .357 mag, but if you really want one just get it on Gun Broker.
Probably a good one to get as it should hold its value.

    With a .38-40 cylinder you’d have a 3 caliber conversion revolver

If the Ruger shoots like my Colt’s 3rd gen .38-40 you’ll have pistol that’s extremely accurate.

10mm Mag would be what I’d go for if rechambering a cylinder.

Some years ago I picked up an old Vaquero in 38-40W/40S&W that had sat on a shelf at a LGS for so long it had dust bunnies in the cylinder. Apparently no on was interested in the gun because of the 'odd' caliber and did not know it came with 2 cylinders. I think I have only shot 40S&W through it twice and really prefer shooting the 38-40W. Being on the Super Blackhawk frame I can run the loads a little hotter but I don't. It's just a real pleasant gun to shoot. A 10mm cylinder would be awesome. The old Vaquero in 45Colt I have warmed up some loads to +P and wow!

Old thread I know. However, does anyone have one of these? How does it work with powder-coated boolits? Thanks, exile.

Help me out i am at a loss why go for a 10 mm over a 41 mag. I just don't understand the desire to use auto calibers 380,9mm ,10mm 45acp. In a revolver. Am i missing something or is it the novelty of it?

The 45Colt/45 ACP and the 357/9mm make sense to me, Amo easy to find. the others not so much.
The 3 people a man must be able to trust completely are his gunsmith his doctor & his preacher ..,his gunsmith for his short term health ,his doctor for long term health ,and his preacher incase one of the others mess up.
