Today, I picked up a Savage 110E in .222 Remington. Been wanting a bolt action in .222 for a while now, so... when I saw this at a local show, I bit on it.
What I do know about it so far is that it was made between '82 & '89, has a 4 round capacity blind magazine, Birch(?) stock and most likely a 1 in 14 twist, and it's pre-accutrigger.
The stock isn't in bad shape, I'll probably refinish it somewhere along the line and it's wearing a Tasco 6x24x40 (China) scope. Unfortunately whoever mounted the scope didn't lap the rings.
I intend on putting some rounds thru it on Monday and (1) find out if the scope is any good (2) see what sort of group I can get with the reloads I have made up for the 14" Contender.
Can anyone tell me anything else that I need, or should know regarding the above?
