Delayed Roto order - can I cast these?

These being about 900 Hornady swaged hbwc that are undersized at .356. I will have everything I need tomorrow except the 16/1 alloy so I wondered if I could melt those hbwc down and cast with them? Perhaps there is not enough tin in them to mold well? 60 yrs. old and acting like a kid on Christmas Eve.......

If while you could, it would be dirty and messy to do so, the nice thing about hbwc is that the skirt expands to completely engage the rifling so 0.356 isn't an issue.

You can absolutely cast em. I have recast all of my comercial bullets. Those will be close to pure lead, but will work fine for low pressure loads.

I would consider adding 1 - 1 1/2lbs of tin to them. This will aid in the fill out of the bullets. 900 148s is 19 lbs so this amount of lead makes 20-1 -16-1 or so.

Probably would have to look at some solder to get the tin.

Have you shot any to confirm that they lead? Seems like a waste to melt good projectiles..........if they are good.
