    Browning 22 lever

Friend of mine has been asked by a family member to find a new home for this 22. Can anyone shed some light on it's history and value?Click image for larger version.

    BL-22.

Fantastic plinkers with nice blued steel and wood. It came in a few grades. Most common was grade 1, field grade. Still had nice bluing and glossy finished walnut.

I picked mine up for $250 several years ago (used)

    My favorite 22 lever plinker.

Short stroke lever action, you can work the action without removing your thumb from the stock.

    Yep, it's a BL-22, a high grade, engraved model. I've had one since 1972 and I love it. It's a real keeper!

My father bought me one in 1972, I think it cost $72, three dollars cheaper than a Marlin 39 at that store. MSRP on a grade II is $699. If I was not in school or doing farm chores it was my constant companion hunting gophers all summer and jackrabbits all winter for 45cents apiece. A very fine rifle.

My brothers first rifle in 1972. Still accurate and 45 years slicker today. That one is probably worth $4-500 with the engraving and checkering.

    Browning 22 lever

CDNN currently has them on sale for $499. This a grade II model.
I would pay that and feel like I got a very fair deal.
