    D-Rig's 25 caliber swaged pellets

Last summer Dale sent me some pellets to test.
My rifle is an unmodified Benjamin Marauder PCP, with Athlon, Talos BTR 4-14x44 scope mounted.
When the pellets arrived, the air quality here was so bad due to forest fires, I was to much of a weenie to go outside, pump the rifle up and shoot it.
For Christmas I got a air tank, and this weekend the temps were a relatively balmy mid 30s above zero, with about 6 inches of slushy wet snow to wade through, I did some shooting at 40 meters.Click image for larger version.

These two groups of eight were fired with a starting pressure of 2700 psi
The pellets are D-Rig's 32.80 grain large hollow point flat base.
The point of impact was about 3 mils lower than the 25 grain JSB pellets fired in the first group.

    First group,

These are small hollow point with a skirt. Rifle was filled to 2700 psi before the first group was fired.
They were easier to chamber than the flat base pellets, but still more difficult to chamber than the JSB's.
    First group
    673 AV
    14.1 ES
    5.4 SD
    1. 664.8 FPS
    2. 670.7
    3. 674.6
    4. 676.4
    5. 676.0
    6. 666.0 yikes!
    7. 677.4
    8.678.9

    second group
    677.3 AV
    4.7 ES
    3.0 SD
    1. 675.4 FPS
    2. 678.4
    3. 678.5
    4. 682,2
    5. 679.5
    6. 676.8
    7. 675.4
    8. 672.5

At 40 meters the JSB pellets seem to shoot a little better than the swaged pellets. That might be because the swaged pellets have a very short bearing surface.
The groups are good enough with both pellet designs.
Next test will be at longer yardage, The diablo shape of the JSB pellets could make them slow much faster than the heavy swaged pellets.
Paper will show which groups better.

Here is one of my better shooting rounds it's a 33 grain 2-S nose with a hollow base .
This is at 50 yards with a Daystate Air Ranger , that is a 1" dot on a 8" shoot & see target .

This is a pic of the 33 grain 2-S nose

Here is the target at 50 yards

D-RIG's hollow base is what I described as skirted, My groups were fired off a wood bench, with Harris bipod, in failing light and rising breeze. Less than great bench rest equipment.
