Source for quality bag molds?

Is there a source for good quality bag molds anymore? Seems Rapine went under, an have not heard very stellar things about the ones TOTW sells unless quality has changed since the complaints I have read were posted? Specifically .530 , .600, and .710 or .715

Not sure what a bag mold is unless you are referring to ball/shot bags in which case I use sand to form mine (leather bags) Ed

Bag molds are molds small enough to fit in your possibles bag. Thereby allowing casting over a campfire or other primitive casting situation.

I purchased the totw bag mold and it sucks. Out of round, spru cutter left huge nubbins top of the ball. Def do not recomend them. Mine was purchased 6 months ago.

THE bag molds to get are the callahan's. top shelf.

Dixie Gunworks was the first to produce bag molds from old curling irons

Dixie's were not true bag molds and they didn't have a sprue cutter - Turner Kirkland did have an imagination though and a lot of folks used the scissor style hair straighteners converted to molds many years ago when there wasn't a whole lot to choose from. They also used to carry a bronze bag mold IIRC but I never case with one of them. I never cast with one from TOW so can't speak of them but I do remember seeing them on trade blankets every once in a while which would either indicate that the owner no longer had the rifle or they didn't cast well. Even original bag molds did not always cast perfect balls though but they worked just fine. I had several for rifles that i once owned that didn't cast perfect but were certainly good enough to shoot and they shot pretty good too. I have cast with them over a wood fire with a hand forced ladle and there is just something about doing it the way it was originally done to make things seem "right".

I currently have a Dixie sissor mould in .600 in stock it will go to the gun show the 12th.

The new Dixie moulds are real bag moulds. No sprue cutter no sissor handles but straight handles this is what I have.

Thanks for the recommendations fellas. Looks like I'll be going with a Callahan mold when I get ready to order one
