if you keep doing that with the kids in your neighborhood there soon be a shortage of hoodlums on the street. Cause they'll all be at the range shooting casting and associatin with people of good character.
Cast a bunch of .452 Lee bullets yesterday - 230gr. TC, 200gr. H&G clone, and the Lee 190gr. SWC.
You can miss fast & you can miss a lot, but only hits count.
I cast up a bunch of Noe 314407 boolits for my Mosin-Nagant 91/30, (170 grain louverin style flat nose). So far this is the most accurate cast boolit I have tried in it, works well with all powders I have tried in it.

I dug out an old mold that I haven't cast with for a long time. I've been meaning to load some 45acp for a Ruger American (pistol) I bought last fall.
I had forgot I had this mold, when I seen it, I remembered it didn't work well in my Baby Eagle with polygonal barrel, but maybe it'll work in this Ruger? These were cast with a soft range scrap (9-10 BHn). They dropped at .4535 and 244gr. I'm thinking I'll load 'em with a published starting charge of Unique...maybe?

Nice lookin TL's John, always nice to have some range scrap handy for these little experiments.
Consolidated some scrap lead into ingots today. 225-250 pounds. You can barely see that I should have been cutting the lawn instead, but naw. I'll get to the lawn tomorrow. By the way, off to the right there is a partial picture of an NOE ingot mold. 4 pounder. That is really nice, and the heavy ingots drop right out. I love how it fastens to NOE handles (probably Lee too). Very nice to work with. I wish that RCBS ingot molds accepted handles, but they do work pretty well.
Perfect weather for melting lead:
I did about 10 pounds of 311299 cup points and another 10 pounds of 311041.

I cast about 100 Lee 358-105 SWC(H&G 68 clone), and about 100 Lee 356-124 2R on Saturday, then last night powder coated them. They will be ready for the reloading session tonight. I love this hobby.
John,
You will want to get your hands on the sister bullet, 311407 next. They come up for sale from time to time on ebay. Same bullet but with a nice meplat on the nose in lieu of the point. I have had great success with this bullet in a Winchester High wall in 30-40 Krag. Should shoot like a house a fire in any .30 cal. rifle
I should add that I got tired of looking for one that was for sale on ebay for under $80 so I went to NOE and ordered one of their fantastic 3 cavity jobs. My first NOE mold and I am pleased with it.
