Last week cast and loaded 100 200 gr .44 mag.
Today it was the Lee .314 90 gr tc for the .32sw long. 55 cast, 50 loaded, nice hour spent enjoying myself.

Does not get much better than that. Hot and muggy outside but my basement casting/reloading center was nice and cool.

I ran a mixed lot today. Started out with the Lee 8mm Maximum for the Swede roller, and then went on to some 450 and 500 grain 50 cal for the other Swede rollers. After all wouldn't want them to feel left out. All in all about 35 pounds worth.

About 6 pounds of .455-220 HBWC Manstopper from a recent Mihec group buy. Sized these .454" and tested them in both a Webley MK VI and a S&W 1917. Got some of the best groups to date with the MK VI and hit right at the sights over 4.5 grains Unique. Used a bit heavier charge in the 1917 but the group size was also impressive.

Sunday AM, just after sun up, I was warming the pot and straighten out the tools in the tool box... Took some time as I'm not used to this MAG POT I borrowed form my friend yet. But finally I had hot lead flowing and my molds up to temp! Just two molds a Lyman 150g RN and a LEE 145 SWC. Should be about a 14-16 BHN cast.

I just ordered a 65G 257 GC mold for the 25/20...so I THOUGHT I was winding down but looks like at least a couple more pots to melt this season!!

I cast allot Saturday night! We had some bad storms roll thru, they cancelled my steel match.. but in the late afternoon, the cold front pushing the weather thru was MOST PLESANT! I fired up the pot and did not finish till after dark! I was casting last as the lights came on. I 3/4 filled my water drop bucket. I couldn't lift it I was worried it would SPLIT! I dumped the water out right where it was, then lifted the remainder to strain out all water.

I cast some 280 NOE 35 cal round noses. (4 Cav mold)

Some more 145 .401 's, then some 250 454 SWC's (Single cav) Lastly a few more 30cal 150g RN bullets (Also single cav). These are cast harder @ 15-16 BHN right out of the pot.

The pile looks much smaller than it was in reality.

I was casting .480 round balls on Saturday. Then the thermocouple on my PID quit. My previous supplier was out of stock. Finally found some on Ebay, and ordered four. Finished my casting with my old Lee bottom pour. That sucked, nowhere as nice as my Lyman pot with the PID controller.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.
John Taylor - "African Rifles and Cartridges"

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!
