Ran out of bullets to reload. I still have about 1k rounds of each caliber loaded but I like to have a reserve of unloaded components so I spent a few hours Saturday casting 50 pounds of reclaimed shot into TL452-230-TC, 401-175-TC and 358-158-RF's

Here's a good reason to have an ingot mold and metal tray under the casting pot. As I was melting the lead, there was a drip from the spout and I came out to this nice stalagmite. The ingot was only a couple pounds and went right back into the pot without any more mess.

25 pounds of the Lee copy of the H&G 68 45 ACP SWC and 17 pounds of the Noe copy of the RCBS 35-200.
When you care enough to send the very best, send an ounce of lead.

The following: 160gr LEE, 170grLEE, 180gr LEE and 200grLEE all in 30cal for 308win. BTW, mine seems to prefer the 170 and the 200g. All wearing Sage's gaschecks )copper and aluminum).

Took 4.5 hours on Saturday to cast 1500 Elco hollowpoints and 450 358 105 SWC's. The Elco is a 4 cavity and the 105 is a 2 cavity. That little 2 cavity is so light and takes so little lead but takes forever to make a pile of boolits.

Got to try out my "new" four cavity NOE .30 cal. mould I bought here. Dropped a couple hundred very nice uniform 203gr. projectiles. After a quick PC and sizing to.309 the road testing began. Found them a trifle slow with 7gr. of Red Dot. Will bump up a tenth or two and retest.

Been casting a lot of the Lyman 429431 bullets lately. Don't have a photo of the bullets fresh from the mold, but here they are loaded up in some new Starline .44 Special cases.

Cast up about 13 pounds total of lyman 452460 and Lee 356-120tc. I have to say a big Thank You to Hatch for putting out a great product. Ever since I purchased a pid from him my casting sessions have been more productive and more relaxing.

The Lee mold I used tonight always used to stick boolits and no matter what I did they came out frosty. Found out my pot would run @900° regardless the setting, hooked up the pid and now my molds are producing boolits like everyone else posts pictures of and I don't have to pull my hair out trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Now to get a session with that brass mold I have yet to try. Only had it a couple months. Will be my first brass mold, I'm really liking the Lyman mold.

Cast for a couple of hours before everyone woke up and a couple more after they went to bed.
.356-120s and .452-200s alternating molds. Gotta love 6 cavs.

Just mixed up a batch of Lyman #2 and cast some 31-165D boolits for warmer loads in the 30-30. Got 2400 and 3031 to try. With luck I'll find a deer slaying load. Air cooled and going to try them unsized with BLL.

I cast some 311316 GC boolits for a friend who owns a Ruger 327 Federal. To date he has only fired the revolver with lighter (90+/-) weight jacketed bullets. He has fine handloading skills but has yet to enjoy the bliss of throwing his own boolits. Hope to change that soon, also hoping to get him into casting. Then for myself, I started a new experiment with a batch of range scrap I was gifted. This alloy is softer than WW, and I'm anxious to see if 311-33 boolits made with this blend will hold accuracy and even show expansion when fired from a 32 S&W Long case seated in a 3" barrel S&W J-frame. Beyond that I will also push a few of these boolits out of a 30/30 single shot at modest speed for a light plinking load, perhaps for woods bumming and varmint control. Lots of possibilities here.

Just finished 600# in various calibers hopefully it will last the summer with what I already had. Boy I must say 20# of lead makes a lot of 25acp bullets.

ID:	217419==\ A few days back I purchased a "New Mould " from ASmith80 and when it arrived I was ready to give it a go and this is what transpired after a three hour session two days in a row. The Lee .356 RN 124 new mold has a tight sprue plate screw and the sprue plate was easy to open freely. On my other Lee molds, you can lock the sprue plate down tight. This is an improvement for me anyway. Using a Lee 10 lb pot that sometimes drips, then use a screwdriver in the slot of the valve rod, twist back and forth and move the rod side to side in the rectangular holder, the drip stops. Then into the session it begins to drip again, and use the screwdriver again. No bother to me. I also use a laser temperature gun that will reach well above what is needed. I pick it up accasionally and check the temperature of the top of the lead and adjust the control knob as needed. Poured a few boolits at first that were ill formed. Got it all up to temperature and wallaa good boolits. Very close to 1062 in number. The way the bullets poured out of the basket reminded me of the "Horn of Plenty "

After a few months scrounging supplies and learning everything I can, I finally took a crack at it. First attempt at casting ever. COWW +2% tin into a DC 429421. What y'all think?
