Ammo box for long .45 cals

I have switched to PP in my 45-70 and because the boolits are seated right out the cartridge is around 3 inches long. None of my boxes will take them.
I wish to store them boolit up.
What is available as there must be something that holds 45-90 and 45-100 also?

A friend gave me this box but I made several for myself.
You can go the simple way and find small plastic boxes or ammo cans and cut a 2x10/12 block and drill holes like a loading block and use that for a base like my box has and you can make blocks under the holder to adjust the height you want. I put foam in the lid to hold the PP from falling out should the box tip over.

Or you can make yourself a simple line box like this that will hold enough rounds for a afternoon range time or on line at a match with cleaning supplies, tools and patches or what ever.

Just some ideas that are easy to make with simple tools.

i make my loading blocks with a hunka wood and a 5/8" forstner bit.

I looked at the MTM range and the RMLD-50 takes a cartridge length of 3.08" and the RSLD-50 takes 2.46" according to the specs.
So a bit short. I made a typo in the first post . I need 3 1/2 inches.
Those wooden boxes look wonderfull. I wish I had the skills and time.

I used to use ammo cans with loading blocks like rfd has that I cut to fit the ammo cans like here at Midway. https://www.midwayusa.com/s?userSear...temsPerPage=48 Air tight and moisture resistant and easy to carry. Those little 20 round boxes are ok and I have a bunch of them but they always tipped over and the PP bullets would roll off the bench or the separated test loads get mixed up when the shells roll over the bench or tip over on the truck seat.

i have a LOT of j&j's, and i use a length of 3m concrete and patio tape with a small 1/8" ply spacer to allow the lids on/off, between 3 of the 20 round boxes. tied up, they don't fall over.

The 50 round boxes made to hold the 300 RUM, and 300 wsm base down do fine job of holding 45-90 etc with paper patch bullets.

i dunno about those smartloader boxes. the compartments need to be .625" square to accept the head of a .45-70 brass case. then there's the cartridge length issue. i haven't found a commercial plastic box that can do just that besides j&j ... so far ...

Did more ringing around yesterday. Looks like the SmartReloader stuff is not imported here any more . None of the boxes available.
One dealer had two MTM RF22-LM-10 left so I bought those to use in the meantime. They take bullet up to 3.84" long and list the 45-100 amongst others.

Those Berry's boxes that Todd referenced work very well. They are even work well with long buggers like the 40-90 bn.
