Glad it went well. Now you can make a hairy leg lamp, like in "A Christmas Story". It will look great in the front window.
Not a funny circumstance by any means, but better to laugh, than not.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Prayers do work and the fact that you feel better is a definite plus....glad you are doing well and a great attitude will make you succeed!

Good on you Reddirt62. I agree with the others about your attitude being fantastic. That means that this procedure is likely to go very well for you. The things that I have seen others do after getting their artificial legs and arms is truly amazing. No doubt in my mind that getting to go shooting is only the tip of the ice berg for you. You will be able to do so much more. Thank you for sharing and Have a Happy New Year!

Glad to hear, and good luck with the new limb. They can be uncomfortable at first.

A friend had an amputation in almost the same place. It really through him off trying to navigate as the artificial limb weighed so much less. Something to be aware of going in.

Thanks! After two years of constant pain and 5 surgeries my future is finally bright and while I heed the cautions some have posted they are exciting challenges! Also never feel bad or apologize for stump humor with me, I have found an absurd sense of humor is a necessity for amputees!!

A friend of mine from the local American Legion post in Fl lost his right arm just below the elbow in Korea.Got one of those hook end replacements. As he was a Captain when it happened he chose the nick name of
"Captain Hook".There were some others that lost limbs in the service,BUT their nick names are not suitable for a family forum.
    Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

Glad that you are recovering well and will soon be kicking butt

Congrats! We all know it had to be a hard decision initially but one that is vindicated by the awesome outcome. May your recovery all be as positive as it has been so far!

Great so far! Keep up the humor, it does help even in bad circumstances

If the artificial limb is too light, then you know what you have to do...

About 300 rounds of reloads for your EDC weapon should about do to balance the weight up? :P

Friend, in my ignorance, can I ask what the cause was for this operation?

Prayers for a complete recovery, and for increased mobility when you get the new magic leg!

Thank you!! A progression of diseases first is peripheral neuropathy which then can become Charcot Foot Disease. It was the latter in my right ankle that brought me to the point of amputation. Although these are primarily diabetic diseases I am non diabetic.
