Western Field 12 gauge drops 2 shells to be next loaded in the chamber.

I load up my WField (corrected, it's a JC HIGGINS) 12 gauge, shoot 1 shell, then pump to eject that shotshell, the next round coming from the tube, is 2 rounds, jamming up.
I bought a NEW little spring, for the shell stop, I'll call it, but that still doesn't fix it.
Any ideas, how to stop the 2nd shell, from following the next in-line one?
Hard to describe am of this!
    Thanks for any input!

Western Field 12 Ga needs more info. There were Mossberg, high standard ect Western Fields we need a model number to cross reference. If it was an old 520 620 it might be the spring any you may need a whole assembly.

There is a primary and secondary shell stop. The primary holds the rounds in the magazine as you load it. The secondary holds the shell in the magazine as the one in front is released from the magazine onto the shell carrier. I may have the primary and secondary backwards, but you get the idea. I suspect the secondary shell stop is worn.

I have a Stevens 67 E that does the same thing, though I'm pretty sure its not the same as the Western Field XX. Bought a new cartridge stop, made no difference. There was no wear on any of the contact surfaces.

Can you send us a picture of your shotgun? That will help to identify it and diagnose the problem.

Then it could also be called a High Standard model 200.
I know that doesn't solve your problem but once you get it sorted out, the necessary parts should interchange.
What I can see of the action looks quite a bit like my High Standard K-120 but I've never had any trouble with it feeding/retaining ammunition.

The spring behind the shell stop may be weak, That would be the spring behind the arm at the top of your photo. Parts are available under High Standard from GPC. I have the J B Woods instructions on this gun for takedown and repair. If you PM Me I can send you a copy, I will have to copy it and mail it as it is several pages two sides. This was the 20 the 200 and later the flight king.

The tip of the shell stop itself is worn and would need replacement - BUT - if you remove it (again), you might be able to bend the tip a bit in towards the center of the magazine tube throat (what do you have to lose by trying ? )

If you look on the opposite side of the shell stop you'll see another shell stop, it's either broken or gummed up. It holds the rounds in the mag tube while the slide is pulled back. I have had a few of jc Higgins, and a couple of the high standards, and never had that kind of problem. I just looked numrich gun parts call it a right cartridge stop $24
