2018 Rattlesnake Mountain Long Range Matches
Black Powder Target Rifle Shooters,
The Rattlesnake Mountain Shooting Facility 2018 High Power calendar is attached. Once again we have eight long range matches scheduled for the year, one every month from March through October. These are all combined matches with concurrent firing for Black Powder Target Rifle (BPTR) and high power rifle (both sling and F-class). Squadding and firing points will be segregated by discipline. Results and awards will be by equipment category.
March 16-18, April 13-15, July 20-22, August 17-19, and September 7-9 are Mid-Range and Long Range Matches following our usual format. (See attached Match Program) For BPTR, the Friday morning mid-range match consists of up to four sighters and 10 record shots in 22 minutes at 300 and 600 yards. Friday afternoon is long range practice at 800, 900, and/or 1000 yards for anyone interested. The two-day long range match consists of the Creedmoor course on Saturday (unlimited sighters and 10 record shots in 22 minutes at 800, 900, and 1000 yards) followed by two 1000-yard stages on Sunday (unlimited sighters and 10 record shots in 30 minutes). Cost is $30 for all three days, $25 for two days, $20 for one day only. Match winner receives an engraved plaque.
May, June, and October are NRA-registered championship matches.
May 18-20 is the three-day Washington State Creedmoor Championship for BPTR shooters (...in conjunction with the Washington State Palma Championship for high power shooters). The Creedmoor Course is fired each day; unlimited sighters and ten record shots in 22 minutes at 800, 900, and 1000 yards. Cost is $70, with both monetary awards and trophies given.
June 23-24, the weekend following the Quigley, is the Washington State Long Range Championship. This two-day match consists of five stages at 1000 yards. For BPTR the first stage on Saturday is any sights (scopes permitted), unlimited sighters with 10 record shots in 30 minutes. The second and third stages are iron sights, two sighters and 10 record shots in 30 minutes. Sunday’s first stage is again any sights, unlimited sighters and 10 record shots, while the final stage is iron sights, two sighters and 10 record shots. Cost is $50, with both monetary prizes and trophies awarded.
October 13-14 is the two-day Rattlesnake Long Range Regional Championship. The Creedmoor Course is fired each day; unlimited sighters and ten record shots in 22 minutes at 800, 900, and 1000 yards; with an additional “any sight” stage at 1000 yards on Saturday, unlimited sighters and 10 record shots in 30 minutes. Cost is $60, with both monetary awards and trophies.
