    Help needed 9mm

    Trying to setup for a new Smith n Wesson 9mm shield. I’m useing the Lee tl356-124-rn bullets I’ve cast and habor freight red powder coated. I need help with the OAL length for this combo. Thanks.

    Mine range from 1.1" to 1.135" depending on my mood.

    that is my method for determining OAL for new rounds as well. Base load data gets me in the ballpark, then I plunk test and check for feeding issues.

    Keep shortening till it passes the plunk test. You will have to be careful on the amount of PC as it will change where you will need to seat your bullets. If it is really thick then you will need to run them shorter. Away around this is to use the TC 120 gr mold. Once sized you do not need to worry about the thickness of the PC changing where the ogive is at
