mineral spirits solvent

Dawn dish soap and a hot water rinse.
I go a different way
squirt some 70% alcohol on an old towel
dump the brass or completed cartridges on the towel, fold it into thirds, longway and see-saw the towel back and forth. do this about 10 times to remove the lanolin

I use the same tumbler (wet or dry) and run crushed nut shell media, to remove the lanolin. I do add a nice splash of mineral spirits to the media. Couple of hours and the lanolin is gone. Another hour or so with fresh media and NuFinish to preserve the surface.
dawn ,lemi shine, pins, water tumble for 2 hours brass will be clean and lanolin free
if you tumble too long the lanolin will homogenize with the water and coat everything with
a green slime. if this happens refill with the same ingredients and add 1 cup of flour and tumble for 1 hour

I clean my rifle brass with ss pins, dawn and lemishine, then lube with lanolin, then into another tumbler barrel with car wash and wax to remove the lanolin, no ss pins for the second tumble. Works for me.
5lbs SS pins in 15lb tumbler with up to 8lb of brass.
2 tbl spoons of Dawn
2 tbl spoons of Lemishine
1 gal water
2hrs of tumble does the job
