    40 grain 4s ogive 22 cal from 22lr short!

Found one of the bullets from a previous customer's die I put together. I pretty little 22 cal 40 grain bullet made from a 22lr short jacket with a perfect little 4s ogive nose profile. This would be a great little bullet and profile for a FN5.7x28 or the 22 hornet. Now if I could only acquire a lot more 22lr short brass

    Pictured with the 5.7x28 case

and with the 22 mag case

next to one of my 17 grain 17 cal bullet and a 22lr round

Makes me want a small 22 cal!

    Swage on!

Yes the rifle version, this would be a great bullet for. But that 9mm length pistol 22 TCM 9r bullet.... I'm still working on that one with the short round bullet tip

    Swage on!

That is awesome. I am an absolute noob when it comes to swaging. As in still just researching it before I decide to even make that jump.

And the bullet that got me into looking in the first place is the one above. Manufacturers are stingy when it comes to 40gr. 22s. The ability to make your own would cut my costs down on shooting my FiveseveN to something approaching cheap costs.

I do have one question regarding the brass used. Forgive my ignorance please, but could you just not cut down a 22lr to 22 short size if you have the proper equipment to do so?
